I never really had a passionate desire to travel in Argentina until a few years ago. I still loved the culture, literature and cinema of the region but the thought of travelling there just didnt excite me as much as other destinations in Latin America. And then in Mexico I met one wonderful woman and all of a sudden my desire to travel to Argentina grew by a million. And three and a half years later I finally made it to her city, Santa Fe.
Arriving in Santa Fe neither Monika nor I had high expectations for the city itself. Our sole purpose for the visit was to see Lu and neither her nor any of the other Argentinians had told us about anything particularly exciting you can find there. But both of us were pleasantly surprised by what we found.
To begin with this city is sexy. There are rumours throughout Argentina that Rosario is the city with the best looking Argentinians in Argentina. At the time of posting this blog I have already been to Rosario and I can confirm that this rumour is bullshit. Santa Fe has the best looking women and men we have seen in the country by far. Not only that, but it is also the sportiest city we have been to and come around 6pm the whole city (except for Monika, Luciana and I) docks their skimpiest sporty outfits and comes out to the main streets and squares California style to jog. And the amount of beautiful long legs and nice juicy torsos we saw was incredible. It almost made us forget about that never-gonna-happen-pilates session we’ve been planning for the last 2 and a half months. I maintain we’re growing our butts for Brazil.
Apart from the people, the city itself is beautiful. I kept telling Lu how parts of it remind me of Miami, San Francisco, Belgrade etc. The city itself is clean and very green and just a pleasure to walk around. And of course the best thing about it was having such a wonderful guide and being able to share a little bit of my Argentina experience with her and her being able to share her home with me. I went to see Lu’s uni (where the magic happens), met her friends, went to the local, coolest cafe in the world and one night had a barbeque with her friends which resulted in me nearly having to be taken to hospital from an extremely severe meat overload (i literally couldn’t breath for about 24 hours after that). It was a very special part of my trip and the part of Argentina I was looking forward to the most, I just hope Lu comes to visit me as soon as possible wherever that might be 🙂
