So momma was pretty excited about Brasil in general but grew a slightly unhealthy obsession with two things; capirinhas and sugarloaf mountain. Whenever there was a photo opportunity with sugarloaf in the background the camera had to come out and of course we couldn’t miss the opportunity to visit and climb it. Sugarloaf mountain has become one of the iconic images of Rio and the 396m mountain is said to have the most beautiful views of the city.

You ride in two cable cars to get to the top of the mountain although both platforms have spectacular views. You have an amazing birds eye view of all the city and its beaches as well as a great shot of the Christ protecting his cariocas and their beautiful city. We stayed there until sunset and watched the skies of Rio change colour a million times and we took so many photos that even my trigger happy mother was satisfied.
