Today we did a mini trek in preperation for our 4 day trek tomorrow. We trekked up to the beautiful lake 69 which is at about 4200m above sea level. It was about 6 hours of trekking but the high altitude made it quite hard for us and by the end of the day it was exhausting!!! Thankfully the weather was lovely and we are well prepared for our 4 day trek tomorrow!

Fun fact learnt today is that the Quechua do not have a word for hello and instead greet each other with how are you or “Imanotak kekanki” instead 🙂

Seeing as captions are being awkward today the main thing to know is about the photo of me spilling a little bit of precious water onto the ground. This is apparently an old Inca custom which gives thanks and prayers to Pacchamama (mother earth) to keep your path safe and the weather on your side. It workedfor us 🙂
