Our first destination was the little village of el Chaltén. This little village set in a valley in the middle of Patagonia is one of the main trekking destinations of Argentina and the perfect place for us to prepare for our four day Torres del Paine trek and lose a bit of the meat and wine overdose from northern Argentina. Brazil is only a couple of weeks away, the excuse of “Brazilians like big butts” is wearing a bit thin and it was about time we did some exercise.

In the end we spent a week there, and after every day trekking to the various mountains, glaciers, lagoons and lakes and the infamous Fitz Roy mountain we decided we are ready to take on the Himalayas if necessary. We left El Chaltén full of energy and clean mountain air, excited to see what the rest of Patagonia has to offer 🙂
